Hey, exploders, great to see you here today. I want to talk about the number one thing you need to do before designing your business strategy. And if you’re not doing it or if you haven’t started from that very point, then, ah, things can go South.
So you’re always on time, that’s good news, you’re always on time to rectify if you haven’t done it first. So what am I talking about? Well before I do that, I just wanted to show you, I’m back home in Maranello. This is my home town where I was born.
I’m in a place called The Maranello Cafe, in the centre of Maranello. And here you’re going to see, that’s the Council that, actually where my mom works, exactly in that tower that you can see behind me. That’s the main square, and that’s it. You have seen the centre of Maranello. Whoo hoo! How amazing is that? So OK, enough about Maranello.
Oh, well, let me show you also this bar. It’s pretty cool, actually. It’s a very cool bar, and you can see on the other side, there is Lovelda having a conference call, as well. All right, so, what am I talking about and what is the thing that you’ve got to start first?
And if you’re watching, guys, give me a whoop whoop here in the comments so I can see that you are watching. Hey, Daniel, hey, Sherry, good to see you, good to see everyone. So the one thing that you gotta understand and you gotta start first, before you start your business is to be clear about what kind of lifestyle do you want to have.
Now, it’s very counterintuitive, because you might be thinking, well actually, I need to start my business, so I’ll think about a better, a great business strategy. But actually, I invite you to do the opposite, and this is the reason why.
If you are starting from your business, what happens is that now your business is going to dictate how you are going to run your life. That’s what’s gonna happen, while if you’re starting from your life, and then understanding, see what boundaries there are, what kind of lifestyle would you like to have, then you can suddenly start creating a business that is going to support the lifestyle that you want, not a life that is going to support a business that you want.
That’s a very big difference. And, you know, I came to this conclusion from experience and because I started doing it the wrong way, just got stumbled into business and worked 24/7, not even thinking about what kind of lifestyle I wanted to have, because in my mind, I mean, I was just happy to work, because I love so much what I do.
But then, I started missing a bit more, you know, like, playing basketball, or having sports, or socialising, all the other things that make life more interesting and not only about business. I just didn’t want to die as a person obsessed about business, and all I did was running my business. And if I didn’t caught myself on time, and Lovelda, my wife, played a huge, a huge role in this. If I didn’t catch myself on time, I would’ve ended up probably that way.
Hey, Caroline, good to see you. Michelle, thank you for joining.
While I was able to catch myself, so now I’m, like, I’m thinking, OK, what kind of lifestyle do I want to have? So for me, a great lifestyle is speaking, meaning speaking all over the world, but in particular, speaking in the UK is part of my great lifestyle.
Also, it’s a lifestyle that allows me to travel to other countries. I mean, I’m here now, I’m happy that I can spend a week with Mom, celebrate her birthday with her, and celebrate my wife’s birthday at the same time, and so allows me to physically to travel, but also I like to have a base. I don’t like to be just a digital nomad without a fixed base. And I like to have a base.
And I like to have a base where actually there is a lot of things going on and a lot of opportunities. So therefore, London is an awesome city to live in for this kind of opportunities. And so, I want to hear also from you guys, if you’re watching right now. What have you done? Have you designed your lifestyle in a way that serves your business, or have designed your business in a way to serve your lifestyle? Just let me know.
Hey, Stacia, thank you very much for joining.
So another thing that is important for me is then to be able to, as well as I said to travel, to spend time with my family, to spend time for basketball, and to speak as much as possible, and spend as much as possible time with real people.
As much as I love this stuff called technology, we have this phone here, we have laptops, but what excites me the most is spending time with real people. That’s what excites me the most. That’s why I love running seminars and speaking more than running the online part of business. And for me, the online part of the business is designed to get people offline, so I can spend real time with them. Right? So think about it. What kind of business do you want to design?
And do you want to spend time with people or are you happy to learn a lot about technology, and funnels, and all this kind of stuff, because having an online business means also loving spending a lot of time online, because that’s where you’re going to spend most of your time in your business. So think about it. What kind of life do you want to have? And then reverse engineer, and then run your business.
So this is my exercise for you guys. I want you to, first of all, this is the first thing I want you to do, I want you to identify what, how many holidays do you want to have? Because even identifying how many holidays and where those holidays are going to be, that is going to help you also clarify the best business strategy for you.
Secondly, identify what other things do you want to do with your life? What other passions do you have? What kind of time and commitment they require? Now, I’m not saying that you will have to follow all of them at the beginning, because at the beginning, you will have to put way more time in your business. However, having the awareness of what you want to build, that’s gonna make the difference. That’s gonna set you aside. That’s gonna set you apart. And that’s gonna help you create what you want to create in your business.
So, Kiera is saying, “It was all work and no play, “but now I love what I’m doing, every day is play. “Next step, more speaking, travelling.” Oh, that’s brilliant. Thank you, Kiera, for sharing. I would love to hear from any of you guys. So this is the main concept I wanted to get across today. What is that you’re going to do? How you’re going to design your business?
In particular, staring from your life, so that your life will be able to dictate how you’re going to run your business in the long term. All right, guys, thank you very, very much for watching. If you are, for example, stuck in designing your business and you don’t really see how it can fit with your life plans and life goals, then give me a shout.
