You might have seen recently that I won the award as Man of the Year 2018.
And a lot of people asked me: “How did you win this award?” “What does it take to be the man of the year?”
there are a few principles I applied to get this result, and I want to use my example, so you can understand the way you can grow your personal brand and business.
Everything was done in a strategic way. In particular, because I was applying for different awards.
There are a few things that can position you in your marketplace, so then when there is an award ceremony, they are going to choose you instead of choosing with someone else.
Number one, you need to be able to be featured on major publications or major media. For example, this year I became a Forbes contributor, Entrepreneur contributor, been on Sky Television a few times, contributor for the Huffington Post, and all helped me reach a wider audience, and get more credibility to my message and what I wanted to say.
I’ve also been featured on the cover of magazines which gives extra credibility.
Deliver value to our clients. We got incredible results with ours. Helping them to triple, quadruple, quintuple their businesses in some cases.
All these case studies and testimonials, they’re important for a judge because they see, that this person is not just a pretty face that can go on a cover of a magazine, but actually, they are providing a service, which is valuable and is providing tangible results.
As my good friend and content creator, Nate Chai would say, the last thing that is really, really, really important is also to be consistently out there. I did more than 200 events this year. So when a judge, is looking at my social media profile, can see that I was always talking about speaking at events, contributing to magazines, and being interviewed on podcasts.
And the more you get out there, the more people will see that you are relevant, and that’s how they judge, saw what I was doing and decided to give me the award of Man of the Year 2018.
So it’s less about the award, but it’s more about growing your personal brand your business.
And if you’re able to go into the right publications, consistently be out there, and let people know on social media about what you do, and then getting great results for your clients, then you will not only win awards but other opportunities and doors will open like crazy for you.
That’s what happened to me this year by consistently getting out there.
